VE Day change to Lockdown FM schedule

From 10am to midday, and from 2-4 pm, (just after Jef’s “Now That’s What I Call Radio” show), Lockdown FM will be playing non-stop music from the 1940’s, to share with you the sounds of the decade that led us to the end of World War II.

This may bring back many memories for those in our community who lived through those difficult years, but for other’s born after that period, this is an opportunity to share in the sounds and emotions that carried generations of children, parents and grandparents through wartime to peace.

Please join the UK in raising your glass for the Nation’s Toast at 3pm, to those who gave so much.

“My dear friends, this is your hour. This is not victory of a party or of any class. It’s a victory of the great British nation as a whole.
“We were the first, in this ancient island, to draw the sword against tyranny.”

– Winston Churchill – 8th May 1945
