The message to residents is still clear – Stay Home – Save Lives.
Government advice is still that you should only leave or be away from home for very limited purposes. The Government has required by law that certain businesses and venues close to the public. Food, hardware, and certain other retailers providing essential goods and services can remain open.
The government has prohibited gatherings of more than 2 people, except where the gathering is a group of people that live in the same household, where the gathering is essential for work purposes, or funerals.
Household waste recycling centres in Hampshire have reopened this week – but with reduced working times, and some additional measures. They are open for essential journeys only – residents are only asked to visit if they can’t store waste safely at home.
Eastleigh Borough Council rubbish, recycling, glass and garden waste collections continue as normal. Eastleigh’s food waste collection service has been temporarily suspended for safety reasons, and residents should if possible avoid food waste, compost what can safely be composted, and place anything remaining in the black general waste bin.
