Confirmed Newcastle team v Southampton – Schar, Sean Longstaff, Willock, ASM all start

The Newcastle team v Southampton has just been confirmed.

Newcastle kicking off their match at St James Park at 3pm.

Steve Bruce and his team needing to bounce back from starting the season with three straight defeats.

Ahead of today’s match, Steve Bruce gave an update on the injury and fitness / availability front on Friday.

Both Karl Darlow and Martin Dubravka are out for the foreseeable future, Darlow still recovering from covid and a setback for Dubravka, as the NUFC number one has an infection following surgery for a broken metatarsal.

Whilst Jonjo Shelvey has a calf injury and won’t be available either.

Steve Bruce said Allan Saint-Maximin got a knock on Wednesday night against Burnley but should be ok.

Whilst the NUFC Head Coach said that he would be monitoring both Isaac Hayden and Paul Dummett to see if they were fit enough to be available today.
