Shaun O’Brien

Shaun O’Brien is one of the station’s most experienced and respected voices, with a broadcasting career that began in 1988 on hospital radio in Winchester. Over the decades, he has presented and produced shows across multiple community stations, becoming a familiar and trusted presence on air.

He joined Outreach Radio shortly after its launch and has since become a cornerstone of the station. He now presents the Outreach Radio & Outreach Gold Breakfast Show every weekday from 6am to 9am, making the morning feel effortless and enjoyable for listeners.

Beyond his presenting role, Shaun leads the station’s Events Team, overseeing live coverage and interviews at major public events. He has represented the station at prestigious occasions, including BBC Gardeners’ World, where he has interviewed high-profile guests & TV personalities, delivering broadcast content.

Alongside his radio work, he creates travel and holiday content online, building a strong following by sharing destination tips, travel insights, and real-life experiences. This passion for travel regularly feeds into his radio shows, bringing listener interaction and a sense of adventure to the morning schedule. He is registered blind; however, he does not let that get in the way of entertaining people; it just means you have to do things slightly differently sometimes.
