Georgina Foyle a.k.a. Dee Jay GG

Hello everyone!

I’m Georgina, but better known as Dee Jay GG! I’m the eldest of four siblings from Romsey/Winchester and love to entertain and put smiles on peoples faces by doing what I love most – talking and playing music!

Ever since I can remember I have always had this love for music and DJing, I blame my Dad as he is a DJ too so therefore I follow in his footsteps. When I was little I loved looking at my Dad’s music library and so started gathering up my own CD collection of my favourite artists and played them on my CD player in my bedroom. As well as this, I’ve always been a confident person speaking in front of people and just talking forever about my favourite and interesting things. I first appeared on radio when I was 7, and from then on I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do and the dream hasn’t changed since! I was lucky enough to shadow some presenters to see what life is like behind the radio. I was even luckier when I got my first set of decks for my 13th Birthday. I was delighted with these and I self-taught myself everything, from then on I got bigger decks which made me determined to develop my DJing skills. With the continuous self teaching, practising in my bedroom to my wall and help from peers and my amazing technician at secondary school I managed to build up the skills that I am proud to have to this day.

Before joining Outreach Radio, I used to spend most of my spare time on my decks practising or listening to music – discovering new tunes that I’d listen to on repeat! I have done little private parties where I would provide the music and present the party games which I loved doing, in fact one of my favourite memories so far was leading the party dances at my Mum’s birthday party and having everyone join in!

In December 2020, I joined the amazing Outreach Radio team which I am so lucky to be a part of. I then launched the first ever Saturday Night Warm Up on Boxing Day! From then, I’ve had so much encouragement from the Outreach crew, friends and of course family and built up more and more confidence by every single show, which makes even to this day, presenting the show every Saturday definitely one of the highlights of my week. I put in lots of time to handwrite my playlists every week and I try my best to fit in songs for everyone who likes different decades and genres of music as well as being open about my favourites too. You may notice if you listen that I have lots of features included too that I’m proud of and had good feedback on, such as, the Party Pit Stop and Who Am I? games. Tune in from 4pm to catch my show – I promise its a good one.

Recently, I have really got into collecting and playing vinyls which I now do in my spare time or while I’m studying. One of my ultimate dreams as well, is to work on cruise ships like my cousin, but as a DJ or entertainments manager. Since I went on my first cruise I literally loved the idea of working on one with the benefit of travelling around the world too. Of course, I hope to work in radio for years to come as well!
