As an Advertising Sales Executive you will be joining a team of over 30 presenters and volunteers/staff that have been broadcasting for over 3 years.We’re looking for a self-motivated, knowledgeable, strategically-minded and enthusiastic person to join our team and develop great relationships with prospective regional and local clients.You'll ideally live in or within an easy commute of Winchester or Basingstoke or within an easy commute of Portsmouth, and possibly visit our Chandler’s Ford office for one day each week, with the option for hybrid working, to part work-from-home.You will focus on local and regional clients, developing new campaign ideas, demonstrating great account management skills and be motivated by winning new business.The ideal candidate will have a background in media sales, ideally radio, although we’re still keen to hear from great candidates who have not worked in the radio industry before.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote the Outreach brand, becoming an ambassador for the station
  • Source, identify and secure new business opportunities to maximise revenues
  • Manage your client portfolio ensuring your are is professionally represented and maintained
  • Sell our radio brands; Outreach Radio and Outreach Dance
  • Sell across all revenue streams inc. airtime, digital, sponsorship & promotions
  • Forecast accurate revenues from your are and convey this to the business
  • Manage business potential and ensure every possible lead is followed up
  • Working with clients and the creative team to produce scripts and advertisements
  • Travel across your sub-region to meet with prospective and current clients
Role Requirements:
  • Sales experience in a business-to-business environment
  • Excellent organisational, sales & business skills - and the drive to sell
  • The confidence and determination to pursue and generate new business leads with the resilience to overcome obstacles
  • Excellent communication & team skills with the ability to be friendly and diplomatic
  • Presentable and personable, with a proven track record of developing and nurturing client relationships
  • Passionate about your work, grasping every opportunity to do your best
  • Principled and ethical in the way you go about your role, the way you conduct business, and the decisions you make
  • Purposeful with a strong desire to achieve and deliver to a high standard
  • Capable of identifying key market trends to source new business opportunities

  • Good technological and numeracy skills, with high proficiency in MS Office
  • Be willing to undertake training and development as and when required
  • Have a proven track record in selling advertising and sponsorship in a radio environment (desirable but not essential)
  • Full Clean Driving License (desirable but not essential)
