Outreach Radio are looking for junior volunteer radio presenters between the age of 14-18 to join us.

Do you love good music?

Have you ever dreamed of presenting a show on the radio?

If you’re interested in learning how to present a radio show, what better way to do it than on the radio itself.

No previous experience is necessary, but you must be willing to learn and not be afraid of asking questions and jumping in and having a go!

Don’t worry though, our experienced team including others from Outreach Junior who have also been on this journey will be there to guide and support every step of the way.

Also, if you have a DJ controller setup, or even just a laptop and microphone, (we can advise on a good choice of microphone), you’re half-way there!  Through the power of technology, we can enable you to broadcast live from your home by sending your audio feed to us via the Internet.

Since Outreach Radio was born in the first Coronavirus lockdown, we built in the facility for all our presenters to work from home from day one, which means we can be incredibly flexible and accommodate various way of putting a show together and getting it to us.

If you’re still not sure and would like to find out more, why not drop us a line to info@outreachradio.co.uk, or call us on 02380 09 08 00.

You will:

  • Learn to perform live or pre-recorded radio programmes that are entertaining and fun
  • Prepare and research for broadcasts
  • Learn to to run competitions and promotions
  • Join in at station events and live outside broadcasts
  • Learn about the OfCom Broadcast Code, and what you can & can’t do and say on the radio
  • Meet lots of other local volunteer radio presenters of all ages, many of which had never broadcast on the radio before either! 🙂

Requirements:

  • Be a good team player
  • Have good communication & creative skills and a good sense of humour
  • Never be afraid to ask if you’re not sure
  • Never be afraid to ask again if you didn’t get it the first time
  • Don’t be afraid to ask again if you’re still unsure – it’s better to take time to understand & learn than make unnecessary mistakes
  • Most important of all, have lots of fun whilst learning new skills and playing good music to your friends, family, and listeners across the area!
