Outreach Radio, Your Truly Local Radio Station, is a volunteer-led radio station broadcasting a diverse mix of music, entertainment, local information and specialist programming to listeners across Hampshire and the surrounding areas. Many of our presenters come from a variety of skilled backgrounds, united by a passion for radio, creating great local content, and originating from within our coverage area.

Outreach Radio is seeking a volunteer Traffic & Travel Announcer with an engaging on-air personality, strong local knowledge and clear communication skills to announce the traffic and travel.

Our traffic & travel announcer focuses on providing real-time updates on major travel disruptions, public transport, and road conditions.

This role can be a single role or shared role, based on availability for mornings and afternoons. This role can be combined with our Local News Announcer vacancy.

Due to the nature of the hours, breakfast traffic and travel is a hybrid role, with the option to work from home in the morning, once training has been provided.

Duties include:

• Perform live announcements
• Prepare and conduct research on the latest traffic & travel, with support from resources, condensing it into a 2 minute bulletin every 20 minutes (3 per hour)
• Strong familiarity with the news and events occurring in our coverage area
• Adhere to the Ofcom Broadcast Code to safeguard the station’s Ofcom licence

Requirements:

• Team player with good synergy with co-workers
• Excellent communicator
• Familiarity with live and voice tracking (or willingness to learn)
• Knowledge of Ofcom Broadcast Code (training provided)
• Connections and familiarity with the Hampshire area
• We’re looking for individuals who are entertaining and informative, NOT your political views.
• Comply to Outreach Radio rules and regulations
