Bishopstoke Players’ production this May is something a bit different – a murder mystery evening, “Death and Waxes” by Barry Wood. Your task is to decide whodunnit! There are even prizes!A serial killer who steals the moustaches from his victims is at large. Convinced she knows where the killer will strike next, Freya Yorke, a young criminology student, takes a job at an Edinburgh hotel that is hosting the International Moustache Championships. During the evening, Freya is proved right, and there follows a farcical murder investigation into the group of misfits who comprise the competitors and their partners. To help you in your deliberations, a ploughman’s supper is included in the ticket price for this show (vegan and gluten-free options available).Performances are in Durley Memorial Hall from Thurs 18th to Sat 20th May at 7.30. Tickets are £15 (£11 under-18s) and are available online only at www.bishopstokeplayers.uk/buy-tickets (no booking fee). About Us:
Winchester Go LD is a small local charity that supports adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible. We have over 120 members living in Winchester and District. Our members are vulnerable; they need our help to maintain their mental and physical fitness and to thrive.
Event fundraising is hugely important to Winchester Go LD. Not only does it provide an essential income stream, but it is also an opportunity for our members to get involved. The increase in our local profile offers additional fundraising opportunities and connects potential new members with the charity.
The Garden and Craft Fair is our flagship annual fundraising event. It has significantly grown year on year since its launch in 2016. We are delighted to work with several talented and high-quality stall holders. In this first year we received 100 visitors who enjoyed just 8 stalls and raised £2,500. Despite a very rainy-day last year (2022) our community came out in strong support and our success reported in the Hampshire Chronicle and other local publications.
